The Role:
As a Staff PHP Developer, you will act as a technical leader across multiple teams and initiatives. You will combine hands-on expertise with strategic thinking to drive architecture, solve complex technical challenges, and elevate engineering standards across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design and implementation of complex, scalable backend systems;
Define architecture for new services and major system improvements;
Align multiple teams around a unified technical vision and best practices;
Act as the go-to expert for resolving high-impact technical challenges;
Mentor senior and mid-level engineers and contribute to their growth;
Drive code quality, testing standards, and design reviews;
Contribute to the technical roadmap together with Product Managers, Tech Leads, and the CTO;
Identify technical debt and propose long-term strategic improvements;

Requirements:
8+ years of professional software development experience;
Strong background in building scalable backend solutions with PHP;
Broad understanding of modern backend architectures and cloud environments;
Proven experience solving complex and ambiguous technical challenges;
Ability to translate high-level business goals into technical strategy;
Excellent communication, analytical, and presentation skills;
Experience working with AI coding agents;
Hands-on experience with LLM integrations in production environments (prompt management, evaluations, API integrations);
Tech Environment:
Cloud: AWS (provisioned with Terraform)
Deployment: Linux servers, Docker, ECS, Serverless (Lambda, Step Functions)
Languages: PHP, TypeScript, Python
Databases: MySQL Aurora, Supabase, DynamoDB, DocumentDB, Redis, Elasticsearch, Pinecone
AI stack: Agentic frameworks and LLM observability tools
