Your Role and Responsibilities
As a learning developer team leader, you will lead a small group of a global education professionals that create education solutions for people who support and repair IBM and multivendor products. You will be collaborating with a team of people around the world to deliver timely education solutions. In this role, you will be a member of an interdisciplinary team of creative writers, courseware tool developers, editors, and media specialists. You will participate in many aspects of the analysis, design and production of learning solutions, such as, analyzing content; writing scripts; developing test items; creating course materials; authoring courseware using authoring tools; creating media, graphic art, audio, and video; and editing the final product prior to delivery.
Your deliverables might include blended learning materials, instructional guides, job aids, performance support, and technical documentation to support the delivery of classroom or virtual delivery environments. You will work with the project team, the customer and subject matter experts. You will participate in assessing the requirements; establishing guidelines and writing standards at the beginning of the project. You will draft the recommended solution. Then, you will gather, develop, and assemble the solution content. You will author the courseware or deliverable, including creating the audio, video, or graphic art; providing editorial support; and performing the final review of the solution prior to delivery to the client. Other skills that apply to this job role include the ability to clearly organize information and communicate; basic project management skills such as tracking tasks, estimating time commitments, and managing to a schedule and budget; editing skills; knowledge and application of IBM and non-IBM standards and style guidelines and intellectual property requirements; and how to develop information across a blend of delivery methods. The employee focuses on individual/team objectives and development of professional effectiveness.

Desired skills are technical writing, repair of I/T equipment, and working knowledge of industry standard authoring tools, including: Articulate Storyline, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Camtasia, Acrolinx, and Moodle. Position requires the ability to absorb professional knowledge quickly and develop skills.

You will be expected to engage as an independent professional with the ability to articulate and compare alternatives approaches. You must be able to negotiate with specified objectives.

You must be able to recognize problems related to project objectives. You will exercise creativity and judgment applied to professional technical, or operational problems. You will independently generate solutions, based on analytical skills and business knowledge. You will have the opportunity to challenge the validity of given procedures and processes to enhance and improve or develop complementary adjustments /solutions.

You will work on special projects, lead small teams, and manages routine technical/ operational activities for the department. Your work must demonstrate your understanding of departmental mission and vision. You will be able to provide advice in your technical and operational domain of specialization. You will generally control your own work priorities and methods, requiring tradeoffs, to achieve project deadlines.

In this role, you will be accountable for individual, team, and department results, and for the impact of those results on functional activities. You will participate in overall departmental program planning. You may have budgetary responsibility. Your contributions will include supporting activities that are subject to business measurements, impact customer satisfaction, or impact immediate costs or expenses.
