Our client is a global online provider of foreign exchange (forex) trading and related services to retail and institutional customers worldwide, providing services through its own online trading platforms and affiliates. The company has offices in Plano, San Francisco, London, Paris, Berlin, Milan, Hong Kong, Sydney, Athens, Tokyo, affiliate offices in Toronto, Tel-Aviv, Santiago, Beirut and has a rapidly growing back-office operations department in Sofia.

The Treasury Associate position is responsible for ensuring timely and efficient transaction processing of all outbound payments execution. The ideal candidate will assist with both internal and external customers related to wire or payment requests and inquiries. Perform a variety of routine daily treasury tasks, reconcile transactions and conduct payment research to resolve issues as escalated.


Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Process both outbound and internal transfer payment requests
• Ensure payment requests are within authorization limits of requestors prior to processing
• Validate and upload payment files from internal systems
• Analyze and monitor outgoing wire transfers via the automated processing system
• Perform debit/credit wire reconciliation and confirmations
• Investigate and research wire transfer issues
• Monitor the status of wire and funds transfers
• Contact Banks for returned wires, request wire amendment, and initiate wire recall
• Identify, assess, and prioritize potential payment issues
• Ensure all sensitive data is handled appropriately
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements for the candidate:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or Accounting
• Minimum of 1 year Banking Operations experience in a deadline-driven environment a plus
• Knowledge of wire clearing systems and associated bank messaging (e.g. SWIFT/ SEPA)
• Good problem solving to respond to inquiries and processing issues in a timely manner
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a team environment
• Ability to apply sound business principles and practices to daily transaction activity
• Strong proficiency with the Microsoft Office (Word/Excel)
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English
• Self-starter and able to work under minimal supervision
• Able to maintain confidentiality
