Purpose of the position

Responsible for designing smart RPA solutions that both serve the business stakeholders’ needs and operate technically in a robust way in production.
The RPA Designer operates between the business stakeholders and developers in the RPA delivery process, to design and document the expected robot functionality before the work is handed over to a developer.
The position includes facilitating discussions with the business stakeholders and application experts, ensuring good user experience, proactively finding out detailed requirements as well as potential exceptions and further documenting those as screenshot-level steps and test cases.

To succeed in this position, the RPA Designer needs to have a strong devops mindset, to link the experiences the robots face in production to the new robot designs.


Main tasks and responsibilities:

- Communicating with business contacts in order to form the business logic for the RPA solution, capturing as many exceptions as possible.
- Connecting with the application stakeholders to learn about the possibilities and to select a best possible solution for the task in question.
- Updating the documented RPA Design principles based on the experiences from robot operations and drive improvement in practical level.
- Designing robust RPA solutions, with a focus on user experience, following the Cargotec standards and implemented in a smart and efficient way, not necessarily following the same steps as the current manual work.
- Documenting robot designs, steps, test cases, sample files etc. material needed for starting the development.
- Handing the work over to a developer.
- Follow up the development project end-to-end, participating in the sprints, and fine-tune the design if new exceptions appear or the logic needs to be change.

What you’ll need to succeed:


Education

- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other relevant area


Experience

- Experience and proven results of software development work
- Previous RPA development experience is seen as a strong advantage
- Experience on designing Processes/workflows


Competencies

- Mature and self-motivated professional able to work in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment
- Strong communication and facilitation skills
- Strong solution design and problem solving skills as well as understanding of development best practices
- Basic understanding of UX design and interest to grow these skills further
- Excellent documentation skills
- Understanding the RPA technical restrictions and possibilities (or capacity & interest to become professional in this area)
- Capability to drive different projects in schedule
- Thirst to learn and become a key expert in Robotic Process Automation
- Collaborative, team oriented
- Professional working proficiency in written and spoken English
- Adherence to Cargotec policies and processes to ensure consistent quality of service.
