The fundamental role of the auditor is to report to the shareholders whether the company’s financial statements represent a true and fair view of the company’s financial position and performance. And to check if the accounts are prepared in conformity with the prevailing legal and regulatory requirements.

Audit is something that all businesses need. This means you’ll have the opportunity to experience business life across a variety of industries. And, as an auditor at KPMG, you will be doing much more than just looking at the company’s financial records. You’ll be finding out as much as you can about the whole company, the way it works, its products or services, its technology, its competitors and the industry in which it operates.

Roles and responsibilities

You may be performing the following tasks during your first year:
— Confirming the company’s record of its cash balances, trade receivables and fixed assets
— Helping with the review of the statutory accounts
— Interviewing clients to gather an understanding of the client’s business processes and the controls implemented in their day-to-day operations
— Working with highly integrated teams to serve clients, including people from other departments such as tax specialists, IT specialists, valuation specialists

Qualifications and required skills

To be successful in this role you need to:
— Be a recent graduate in a business or technology-related degree or currently in your final year of studies
— Be willing to develop in the area of accounting, audit and finance
— Have good communication skills in English and Bulgarian
— Be a team-player, able to work under tight deadlines
— Have a client-centric mindset and high performance culture
— Demonstrate professional judgement and objectivity
