MARINE WEATHER ANALYST
Job Purpose and Impact:
Marine Weather Analyst will contribute to the development of strategic weather-related ship routing service solution and will provide tactical weather-related routing advises to the operations teams ashore and onboard using cutting edge technology and ensuring safe ocean passage for the fleet using company services. In this role, you will work closely with internal Customer Solution team to improve and develop digitally driven ship performance solution that can bring the most value to vessel operations, and on daily basis evaluate external weather data for the development of dangerous phenomenon in open seas.
Job Location: Varna, Sofia

Key Accountabilities :
Execute best in class weather analytics efforts and ensure that weather analytics message is heard and understood by all stakeholders: Ship, on shore operations, Customer service team.
Align local weather forecasting insights with the global objective of ensuring safe passage for every ship under service.
Collaborate and support other analysts and customer service team members to deliver analysis and route recommendations that guarantees safe transit and optimizes vessel performance potential.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives related to weather service, working actively with development team on improving weather analysis and routing algorithm.
Apply general knowledge to influence thought leadership on new data, technology, tools and innovation and establish processes to efficiently capture potential weather signal generating data.
Drive towards speed, accuracy, and communication of confidence intervals for weather forecasts.
Facilitate routine communications with Masters, Vessel operations and Weather data providers on ship routing advises.
Partner with customers claims teams on potential underperformance disputes by providing the weather data perspective.
Independently solve moderately to very complex issues without supervision and in collaboration with another analysts.

Minimum Qualifications:
Proficiency using relevant scripting language, visualization and analysis software to build applications and chart pathways to break down weather data into usable forms.
Proficient in working with and leveraging large data sets.
Minimum two years of weather analytics experience.
Minimum of two years of related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Exposure to intricacies of Ocean weather forecasts and the implication on commercial shipping.
