CREDIT RISK ANALYST
Job Purpose and Impact
Cargill is a global leader in nourishing the world in a safe, responsible, and sustainable way. The Credit Risk Analyst for the World Trading Group (WTG) will join the global Risk Management Group (RMG), whose mandate is to manage market and credit risks while partnering with business stakeholders on maximizing risk-adjusted returns. In this role, you will focus on counterparty risk and assess potential credit exposures arising from short, medium, and long-dated over-the-counter forward contracts for commodity trading. You will also support the Senior Credit Analyst and the WTG Credit Lead in proactively estimating and stressing pre-settlement risks arising from volatility in market prices. You will establish relationships to be able to guide decisions within the company’s values and expectations and help structure risk mitigation or risk transfer solutions. You will also work on RMG strategic credit priorities.

Key Accountabilities
Performs credit risk work activities, managing counterparty portfolios with medium to high-risk exposures, approving limits as per assigned authority level. Identifies issues and assists with investigations of credit exposures.
Supports the Senior Credit Analyst and the Credit Lead in conducting credit related analysis and interpretation requiring a deep understanding of counterpart’s financial positions, thorough knowledge of the risk associated with different contracts and understanding of the sectors and commodity values underlying the transaction.
Identifies and analyzes potential sources of loss to minimize risk and estimate the potential financial consequences of a loss.
Prepares credit risk reports and uses advanced visualization tools to support the business in understanding and monitoring credit risks
Manages relationships with assigned stakeholders, helping them understand credit risk and keeping them updated on RMG’s strategy, policies, and credit risk management tools.
Handle medium to high complexity issues with minimum supervision, escalating the most complex cases to the Senior Analyst and Credit Lead

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Ability to work in a global, matrixed company
Experience managing a counterparty portfolio with medium to high-risk profile
Minimum of two years of related work experience
