Position Title: Financial Controller
The purpose of the Financial Controller role is ownership and responsibility for the accounting and finance & control processes for a division within Experian, providing expert advice on accounting and governance matters.

This role offers strong commercial exposure, business partnering opportunities, management responsibility, direct exposure to the Divisional FD with the opportunity to leave a lasting impact across the business.

What you’ll be doing?
Ensure all financial data is complete, accurate and all transactions are consistent with Experian’s accounting policies and IFRS.
Ensure excellent and consistent financial data quality.
Complete month/year end tasks in line with Experian requirements and close timetable.
Provide detailed, complete and informative monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
Oversight and review of the transactions processed and reconciliations by our Shared Service Centre.
Partner with the business to ensure the contract repository is always complete.
Partner with the Billings Team to ensure an accurate and complete billing/invoicing schedule is maintained and supported with contractual evidence.
Ensure a strong and effective internal control and governance framework is in place which revenue related financial data is complete, accurate and all transactions are consistent with Experian’s accounting policies and IFRS / local reporting requirements.
Ensure financial processes are compliant and aligned to the best practice global processes.
Drive continuous improvement and efficiency across all aspects of the financial processes.
Promote best practice, and continue with business process improvements and re-engineering to drive efficiency and add value to the business.
Act as a key member of Finance Management team to determine priorities and drive process and organisational change improvements.

What you’ll bring?
A minimum of 5 years working in a fast-paced Finance Department with relevant in-role work experience.
A tangible track record of independently improving the efficiency, accuracy and insight provided by finance processes.
CIMA, ACCA or equivalent qualification.
A strong drive to understand the commercial drivers of a business.
Excellent numeracy and analytical problem solving capabilities.
Presence, gravitas and ability to influence senior stakeholders in both finance and non-finance roles.
Ability to communicate numerical information in an easy to understand manner.
Adaptability to change and a proven track record of working in a fast -paced matrix organisation and with key working relationships being geographically remote.
Strong knowledge and understanding of technical accounting – e.g. revenue recognition, CAPEX, etc.
High confidence and ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with several stakeholders across the finance function.
Excellent English language skills.
Spanish language will be considered an advantage
