Our Client is a leading international geotechnical engineering and offshore drilling company which has clients from multiple industries including Oil & Gas, Energy & Renewables, Deepwater Research, and Exploration.

Marine geotechnical engineering primarily addresses the design of foundations for overwater and subsea structures and anchorages. The company’s capability also includes the assessment of burial performance for pipelines and cables and provides a range of other engineering services such as the stability analysis of subsea slopes.

The company operates drilling equipment in multiple environments, including: offshore oil and gas structures; offshore renewable energy installations and coastal / river infrastructure engineering.

Headquartered in Switzerland, the company operates globally on behalf of clients. The company has established offices in the UK, Belgium, Egypt and Nigeria and partner offices in the Middle and Far East.

The company is currently looking to recruit civil engineers to support the offshore geotechnical investigations. The place of employment will be Bath, the UK, most of the time, however, some of the actual work will take place offshore.

Qualifications:
Recognised qualification(s) in Civil Engineering
Sme experience will be an advantage but new graduates are also accepted

Objectives:
To perform technical role defined by project manager or offshore project manager during the execution of projects of the company. The position has a combined role of offshore project fieldwork and office based engineering and reporting.

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
• Site supervision of geotechnical investigations predominantly offshore
• Performance or supervision of geotechnical description and laboratory testing of soil and rock samples
• Quality control and processing of in situ testing
• Production of borehole logs
• Specification of laboratory testing schedules
• Generation of design soil profiles
• Performance of geotechnical engineering including bearing capacity calculations, piled foundation design, liquefaction assessment and pile driving analyses
• Creation of engineering reports
• Participate in any health and safety talks, meetings or training

Liaison:
The Civil Engineer will be responsible to the offshore project manager during fieldwork and coordinate all disciplines of the shift. During reporting activities the Civil Engineer will work either directly for a Project Manager or in conjunction with a team of Engineers reporting to a Project Manager.
