Senior Big Data Engineer


Purpose of the Role
This role will include working with various big data, analytics and data visualization technologies. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in design, development and implementation in Java/JEE application, in addition to a good exposure to Big Data & MapReduce. The Candidate must be familiar with the standard concepts, practices and procedures and be able to resolve any technical issues through debugging, research and investigation.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Building & running Map-Reduce jobs.
- Creating repots based on the huge amount of advertisement data.
- Populate statistical results in SQL DB.
- Developing of Java back-end application.

Required Experience & Knowledge
Essential
- 5+ years of experience in software development and mainly in Java/JEE.
- 2+ years of experience in Map-Reduce, HBASE, HDFS, Hive, Kafka, Avro, Postgres.
- Excellent knowledge of Hadoop architecture, administration and support.
- Experience with GNU-Linux based systems
Desirable
- Experience in one or more of the following languages: Python, PERL, shell scripting etc.
- Understanding and expertise in JavaScript, AngularJS, JSON, HTML, CSS.
- Experience with RESTful services.
- Exposure to data workflow and/or scheduling systems is a plus.
- Experience with large distributed services is a plus

- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Required Education & Qualifications
- Fluency in English (both written and spoken) is a must
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master's Degree, preferably in computer science, math, or statistics
