Technical Operations Engineer (Windows/Linux)

Purpose of the Role
• Work closely with the client to understand customers and their mission
• Handling support related production incidents observing SLAs
• Provide 24/7 coverage

Duties & Responsibilities
As a Technical Operations Engineer, you will be joining our 24/7 NOC team with the goal of keeping the business operational. Your working time will be 8 hours long and will include weekend and night shifts. You will be responsible for monitoring and keeping the SLA, planned operations and deployment activities, preventive maintenance activities, client requests through ticket system. We are equally versatile in both Windows and Linux environments, so ability to work freely with them is a must.

Required Experience & Knowledge
Essential
• At least 4 years experience in Windows operating system
• At least 4 years experience in Linux/Unix operating system
• At least 4 years experience in Bash and/or Powershell scripting
• At least 4 years experience in related to database and web servers performance optimization, load balancing and scalability
• At least 4 years experience in database and web servers maintenance including backup/restore and troubleshooting
• In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP fundamentals
• Experience in cloud services, preferably AWS
• Knowledgeable in standard tools used in Windows and Linux system administration
• Fluency in English (both written and spoken) is a must
• Must be able to automate a task through hand-made scripts
• Must be able to use version control systems like GIT
Desirable
• MS SQL Server administration experience
• PostgreSQL administration experience

• Experience in configuration managers (Puppet, Chef, Ansible)
• Windows 2003&2008 server administration
• Python/Ruby skills as a system administrator is a plus

• Strong problem solving and debugging skills
• Understands and accepts the corporate business process flow
• Excellent teamwork skills

Required Education & Qualifications
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related degree
• Proficiency at communicating in English language both oral and written
