We operate in the field of Information technologies (IT) and their application for the needs of the Pharmaceutical industry and clinical research organizations. Since we had opened the office in Sofia, Bulgaria in 2005, we managed to attract many talented and motivated people and helped them develop their potential.

To ensure the expansion of our Operations Centre in Sofia, Bulgaria we are now looking to recruit a SQL Server Database Administrator.

The SQL Server Administrator (DBA) will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical SQL Server RDBMS systems, to ensure the availability and consistent performance of our corporate applications. This is a “hands-on” position requiring solid technical skills. Main responsibilities are monitor and troubleshoot the MS SQL Server, report queries, reporting systems and validating reports using OLAP and relational database technologies, as well as general data assistance.

Main responsibilities:
• Manage SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.
• Provide support for the administration and maintenance of all SQL Server data bases.
• Monitor applications use of the data bases and make recommendations to improve efficiency and response time.
• Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems.
• Set up, monitor, and update jobs performing data backups and recoveries.
• Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement.
• Design and implement fast, scalable, and maintainable cubes.
• Monitor database usage, identify corrective actions when necessary and apply changes needed to handle data growth and performance degradation (data archival, DB size increase, indexing, etc.)
• Perform impact analysis on hardware configurations, database schema, and application code, to offer recommendations on improving design and efficiency.
• Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security. Write SQL code via stored procedures and Transact-SQL to access data.
• Develop database designs by performing needs analysis, creating logical model, and implementing the physical model.
• Ensure databases are available to users during business working hours and any routine maintenance is performed off hours.
• Install, configure, patch, and upgrade SQL Server.
• Monitor disk space utilization and logs, and notify appropriate staff when additional resources are needed.
• Assist staff in setting up, maintaining, backing up and restoring databases in test and development environments.
• Implement and manage SQL Server database replication.
• Monitor replication to ensure the data is being properly replicated to other devices mapped.
• Assist in reviewing and modifying a disaster recovery plan that allows for continuation of service using our hot site.
• Run database jobs, i.e. imports and exports, backups, etc.
• Monitor data integrity to ensure data is not damaged and/or corrupt.
• Create and maintain documentation related to all tasks and provide mentoring/knowledge transfer to other staff within the Database
• Work with various teams to check accuracy of and validate data.
• Write routines to schedule batch jobs to obtain data overnight from various locations.


Job requirements:

Skills
• Have a very good understanding of relational databases SQL Server and OLAP Databases (MS Analysis Services or competing technologies)
• Be able to read ERD’s and effectively decipher database schema for business intelligence needs.
• Be able to accurately compare data from various sources to ensure report validation and accuracy.
• Hands-On experience on scripting
• Experience in Data Mapping, transformation and Loading on a complex, high-volume environment.
• Must be efficient in Structured Query Language, SQL Server Stored Procedures using T-SQL and Analysis Services or equivalent using MDX.
• Working knowledge of Standard SQL Server tools, as well as the Visual Studio environment for business intelligence.
• Must be knowledgeable in most standard reporting front-ends (Reporting Services, Microsoft Excel Pivot Tables, MS Access Forms, Queries, Reports and etc.)
• Must have a good understanding of the call center business process

Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
• MCTS, MCITP, and/or MVP certifications a plus
• Technical training a plus.

Experience:
• 5+ years MS SQL Server Administration experience required
• Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
• Experience with backups, restores and recovery models.
• Knowledgeable in SFA/CRM and SIEBEL database schema.
• Knowledgeable in CTI specifically Apropos Technology.
