Build Engineer- BI Team

Responsibilities:

Formulation of an overall support strategy that gives the team the best opportunity for success at delivering high quality service to the customers
Building a strong support capability including leading other support resources where necessary
Convincing others both within and outside the BI team of the right way to do support, especially when interacting with delivery resources
Ensuring that proper change control processes are defined and followed
Designing processes and communicating these effectively
Effective working closely with other leads
Contributing to ongoing improvement of quality assurance standards and procedures through taking part in software design discussions, reviews, planning and strategy sessions
Input into the enterprise understanding of that data and how it is used – such as canonical data models, data lineage, data dictionaries, user metric guides as a result of testing analysis, and making this available as appropriate to other resources including those outside the BI team
Resolving conflicts that may occur due any inherent challenges in delivery of project versus existing work streams.

Requirements:

Experience with leading support of a BI SaaS solution in a modern devops context
Appreciation of all aspects of BI – from business requirements down to front end reporting tool set all the way through to back end databases and source systems.
Experience with large transactional data volumes, and the types of solutions that support these in data warehousing.
Strong SQL experience (ideally on Postgres or open source databases), coupled with strong general scripting skills - familiarity of storage of JSON objectives very advantageous.
Experience of Agile development.
Experience with bug tracking systems, version control systems (such as Jira, Bitbucket)
Familiarity with build and automation tools (such as Jenkins, Fitnesse)
Ability to understand streaming data sources - for example defining tests for an api that the solution will be consuming from.
Good communication skills and ability to work in multi-cultural team and build trust with other members of the team
Enthusiasm and drive especially under pressure
Ability to provide clear visibility on plans, issues/risks
Ability to understand how to work in a team
Fluency in English - verbally and in writing.
Background of developing financial and bank systems advantageous
University Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
