Responsibilities

Become expert at implementing the type of automated tests necessary for project success
Contribution to the overall BI test strategy, especially regarding feeding back to the test lead on how processes are performing in practice
Deliver working tests at good velocity to be a fundamental part of a strong test team
Interaction with delivery resources and keep them on message with best practices
Solve technical testing challenges
Ensure that proper change control processes are followed
With guidance from the test lead, implement automated testing solution to be used for data consumption from the stream, transform in the data store and reporting by Microstrategy
Work closely with other testers, developer and analysts as well as specialist resources such as security
Implement tests that can also be used as integrity checks on the production systems
Take part in software design discussions, reviews, planning and strategy sessions - contributing to ongoing improvement of quality assurance standards and procedures
Carry out manual testing where necessary, though note that manual testing will be eliminated wherever feasible
Contribute to the BI Centre of Excellence so that test processes are continuously improved

Requirements:

An appreciation of all aspects of BI – from business requirements down to front end reporting tool set all the way through to back end databases and source systems.
Experience with large transactional data volumes, and the types of solutions that support these in data warehousing.
Strong SQL experience (ideally on Postgres or open source databases), coupled with strong general scripting skills - familiarity of storage of JSON objectives very advantageous.
Experience of Agile development.
Experience with bug tracking systems, version control systems (Jira, Bitbucket)
Good communication skills and ability to work in multi-cultural team, coupled with enthusiasm and drive -
Background of developing financial and bank systems advantageous
University Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
Fluency in English - verbally and in writing.
Familiarity with build and automation tools (such as Jenkins, Fitnesse, Cucumber) advantageous
Ability to understand streaming data sources advantageous
