We are looking to hire a Senior Database Engineer with strong SQL skills who will work directly with our client’s US based technical experts to architect, implement and extend enterprise web based applications and services in existing multi-platform system.

You will participate in the creation of enterprise-class applications using proven design patterns on the latest technology platforms. This position requires a strong hands-on developer that will fully participate in the software development process – design, development, unit testing and technical documentation. You will use the Scrum development methodology to create 21st century software solutions that set standards.

Job Description

Participating in the design and development phase of software production.
Optimize SQL queries, stored procedures and cashing
Working with Big Data
Day to day communication with US based team members, expert personnel and subject matter experts
Participate in rapid, prototype-based, design sessions
Review and analyze business requirements and provide technical perspective on approach, risk and estimated development time
Develop flexible and robust platform architecture to support changing business requirements
Design and Architect database backend as well as web-services to interface with external applications
Work with the latest development and server technologies from Microsoft


Required skills

3+ years in experience with MS SQL 2008+ Stack (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS)
Expert level in T-SQL
Expert in using tools to profile SQL execution and optimize SQL code to achieve maximum performance
Good knowledge of MS SQL disaster recovery models (AlwaysOn HA, Mirroring, Log Shipping, Replication)
Excellent knowledge in database design, modelling and database query execution optimization techniques
Ability to adapt to and learn new technologies and concepts
Fluent English


Significant advantage would be

Knowledge in .NET Framework
Experience in Oracle or similar databases
Good knowledges in Business Intelligence methodologies
Recognize the difference between STAR and SNOWFLAKE schemas
Experience with Hadoop (Hive, Pig, Oozie)
Knowledge of NoSQL (Cassandra, MongoDB)
On-call troubleshooting experience with at least one production database server
Experience in working with large sets of data
Experience with reporting tools like Excel (PowerPivot) or Tableau
Knowledge of MS SQL Master Data Services and Data Quality Services
