Data Lab Team Manager
Crossmedia Link, Sofia

GfK Crossmedia Link (GXL) Hub is a centralized data processing team being located in Sofia. The main activities of the GXL Hub are focused on digital media measurement data and deliveries for related market research products. The Hub provides services like data coding, data processing and data analytics using Apache Hadoop based technology platform in which modules for data logistics, aggregation and reporting are orchestrated and automated into complex data processing pipelines.

Key objective of the role:
As a GXL HUB Data Lab Team Manager, you are responsible for leading the Data Lab team, planning and balancing the workload in the team and supporting on the daily tasks. You lead the communication with the different teams with regards to any data topics, ensure the quality of the data and escalate all data issues in a timely manner. Data Lab Team Manager will functionally report to the GXL Chief Data Officer and prepare regular reports with a focus on data quality on certain performance indexes.

Main Responsibilities:

Leading and managing a team of Data Analysts and Data Engineers
Supporting automation and optimization of product deliveries and related processes
Leading investigation on designated data quality issues
Working closely with global product management to ensure agreed data and delivery specifications are met
Developing and implementing plug-in scripts to be used in the generic data processing engines
Providing expertize on data production processes and actively sharing knowledge with the team and further stakeholders
Participate in the roadmap planning of new software developments incl. user acceptance testing
Using algorithms for statistical analysis and perform plausibility checks


Required competencies/skills:

Minimum of 3 years related work experience in the field of Market Research, Data Processing or Data QA
Experience in data query scripting (SQL based languages, Hadoop based technologies)
Very good level of English language, both written and spoken
Team leadership experience and proven skills
Good understanding of software design principles and tools (Git/Stash, Scrum, Ticketing systems)
Basic knowledge of statistical analysis and methodologies
Understanding of data quality assurance procedures
University degree (preferably in Statistics, Mathematics or Computer Sciences)
Advanced in MS Office
