Position Title: Database Administrator - Identity & Fraud EMEA


We are looking for a Database Administrator to join our EMEA Identity and Fraud team.

What you'll be doing

In this role you will join a team of highly experienced DBA’s that support multiple SQL server and Oracle systems. You will be expected to provide Database Administration for a number of hosted Business Critical production systems. You will be responsible for day to day operations of the databases to ensure that they continue to maintain their defined availability SLA targets.The systems that you will be supporting will include systems of varying sizes from 50G to several Terabytes.

*This job might require out of hours work when performing upgrades and the participation in an on-call rota.

Essentially you will:
Be responsible for Production database systems meeting the SLA availability targets.
Assist in day to day support of the production environments including: Backup and Recovery, monitoring and performance tuning.
Assist in the installation and patching of RDBMS systems.
Assist in the creation and management of internal systems used to support the production estate.
Be managing Incident and problem resolution of production database issues.
Support application upgrades to the databases.
Contribute to the identification and implementation of technical application improvements
Liaise with Experian EITS teams on storage and capacity planning as appropriate

What you'll bring
Minimum of 2 - 3 years production RDBMS server support in a hosted environment.
Experience in installation and configuration of Oracle RDBMS to the latest versions.
Experience of working with large databases is preferable
Experience in the following DBA functions:
Backup and Recovery using RMAN.
Monitoring of systems.
Performance tuning.
Clustering (RAC).
Knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
Fluency in English both written and verbal
Good problem solving skills, including a methodical and thorough approach to trouble shooting problems.
Teamwork with the ability to work in “virtual teams” as required.
Strong focus on providing excellent Customer Service.
Excellent planning and organising skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise work.
