Job Description

Develop web-based corporate business IT solutions in ROR
Provide technical leadership for multiple software projects
Communicate frequently with client’s expert personnel and subject matter experts
Lead the development portion of software production
Participate in rapid, prototype-based, design sessions
Review business requirements and functional design specifications
Design and create database backend
Develop flexible and robust platform architecture to support changing business requirements
Leverage and generate reusable design standards to be utilized throughout platform
Ensure formal review and approval process for all deliverables
Ensure software deliverable meets business requirements
Manage application build and deployment process

Required Skills

3+ year experience in developing web applications
Experience in leading a team of developers
Expert level in ROR programming
Expert level in database design and implementation using SQL
Expert level in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, AJAX
Expert level in MVC
Excellent spoken and written English
Ability to lead/handle/organize development process for complex software projects
Excellent people skills – demonstrated ability to work with both technical and non-technical individuals, both in gathering information and communicating direction and status.
Excellent analytical skills and obsessive attention to detail
Strong troubleshooting skills
A strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit
A passion for building great software
Responsible and team-oriented person
Bachelors/Masters Degree in Computer Science or similar

A significant advantage would be

Experience integrating with 3rd party web APIs and payment processing gateways such as Authorize.net and PayPal
Experience with JRuby
Experience with GitHub
Experience with Heroku
Experience with iOS or Java (Android)
Agile/Scrum development experience is preferred
