The Global Engineering and Network team is responsible for the design and provisioning of Telus International’s infrastructure and virtual services.



The team works closely with Global Support, Local IT Help Desk, Transition and Transformation and Procurement teams to ensure the efficient, cost-effective delivery of high-quality services to both internal and external customers.



Working closely with Project Management, Pre-sales and Operations teams, this role is a key player in ensuring the accurate translation of design specification to implementation and associated documentation.



Your responsibilities:

Prepare HLD (high-level technical design) with Pre-Sales
Effectively design solutions using the standard company products, evaluate non-standard requirements and propose solutions.
Prepare migration plans for customer services using best practices and company accepted methods
Analyze input requirements, define caveats, clearly and proactively communicate design change proposals to management and customers
Apply best practices and corporate accepted standards to achieve the input design requirements
Ability to operate across a range of platforms and technologies
Pro-active escalation, follow-through and liaison with appropriate departments to resolve technical issues which may impact TI’s infrastructure
Applies ITIL methodology to the role and follows best practice standards and processes
Adheres to Telus International security policies and report incidents to the appropriate operations functions
Assists in the Continual Process Improvement (CPI) program as needed
Work on assigned projects as directed by senior management

Our requirements:

2+ years experience in pre/post sales/technical consultancy or platform engineering capacity
3+ years senior engineer lever experience in a IT/Telecoms/ISP environment
TOGAF Certification desirable
Technical understanding of virtual environments, to include experience and knowledge of:
mainstream operating systems
products
network security
cloud and virtualization technologies
DR/HA enabled solutions and technologies
Experience of working with internationally based customers and service providers
Depth of understanding of the processes and practices of Customer Support and Service Level Management. (ITIL, ETOM, MOF etc…) Certification is an advantage
Ability to understand and improve operational process & Procedure.
Proven track record of working within standards-based operations environments.
Fluent English is mandatory, another European language is an advantage
Ability to operate within an engineering and Senior Management environment
Good technical knowledge and understanding of best practice standards and the practical implementation of processes to ensure repeatable quality work.
High level of customer focus

Open-mind to different approaches to service development and deployment
Able to work under pressure and to deadlines have a sense of priorities and urgency

Good communication and presentation skills, able to influence both senior management and engineers
Able to resolve problems within designs quickly, accurately and through to resolution/closure
Able to demonstrate a high level of trustworthiness
