We are looking to hire a seasoned Systems Administration professional who will work in our newly established Continuation Engineering team – an elite group of uniquely intelligent technologists that build systems and processes to support and maintain groundbreaking web applications that make the world a better place!

You will participate in establishing and leading a brand new practice at MentorMate and will have the autonomy and freedom to build a team of SysOps and DevOps professionals and to establish best practices and processes that will enable the Application Support and Production Support arms of the Continuation Engineering team. This position requires strong hands-on systems thinker that will fully participate in the systems architecture and software development process. You will collaborate with our clients and internal technology teams to create 21st-century cloud-based systems and processes that set standards.

Job description:
Be a key member of the Continuation Engineering team and lead the practice to long-term growth and success
Provide technology consulting to our clients and the Application Support group of the Continuation
Engineering team
Collaborate with development team members to ensure the scalability, resilience, security, and availability of the software products
Create and configure cloud-based environments and services
Create and implement security practices and policies
Develop CI/CD processes
Strive for maximum system administration efficiency by utilizing the latest technologies and tools
Solve mission-critical problems in production or development environments
Configure and administer various Linux and Windows environments.
Create and grow the Production Support arm of the Continuation Engineering Team
Required skills:
5+ years experience in the system administration field
1+ years experience with AWS
Excellent knowledge of Linux operating systems, services and daemons
Excellent knowledge of Windows OS
Excellent knowledge of virtualization and containerization platforms and tools such as Docker,
OpenVZ/Proxmox/Hyper-V/VMware
Excellent knowledge of best-in-class networking and OS administration practices
Very good knowledge in networking configuration and troubleshooting
Experience with routing and switching protocols and open source solutions
Experience with monitoring, logging, and backup tools
Bash scripting and any programming language experience
Ability and desire to quickly ramp up on new concepts and technologies
Fluent command of English both written and verbal
A significant advantage would be:
AWS Certification
Knowledge of infrastructure provisioning software such as Puppet, Ansible, Vagrant
Experience with build tools such as Ant, Maven, Gradle, Make, MSBuild, Rake
Experience with one or more build management tools such as Jenkins
Experience with Git or other SCM tools
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes
Experience with Terraform
