Mission of the Role:

We are looking to recruit a skilled IT Project Manager to join the global project management function. GfK Project Managers drive technology change across the GfK Information Technology environment through projects valued in the range €50k - €2M.

The IT Project Manager will work across a range of portfolios, including Infrastructure & Operations, Service Management and Security & Risk, and will be responsible for planning and managing projects. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of IT colleague and third party consultants and/or suppliers in order to deliver projects according to the plan.


Key Responsibilities:

- Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders
- Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
- Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis
- Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders
- Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools
- Track project milestones and deliverables
- Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas
- Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle
- Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals
- Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary
- Where required, negotiate with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company
- Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants and raise with management for recruitment if necessary during project cycle
- Direct and manage project development from beginning to end
- Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel
- Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team
- Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path
- Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations
- Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans
- Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project

Required skills and experience:

- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as managing technology projects, ideally gained in a multi-regional environment
- Experience working within an ITIL framework and change-managed environments
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Experience building and maintaining strong working relationships with other technical teams, including internal infrastructure teams and external service providers, vendors and partners
- The ability to work unsupervised - prioritising, executing and tracking tasks, communicating progress and managing risks and issues
- The ability to communicate and work collaboratively with project stakeholders and team members
- Excellent oral and interpersonal skills
- Excellent writing and documentation skills

Qualifications Required:

- Valid project management certificate (either AgilePM Practitioner, APM Project
- Management Qualfication, PMI Project Management Professional or PRINCE2/PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner)
- Valid ITIL Foundation certificate
