We are looking to recruit a System Administrator to be part of our IT Infrastructure team

What to expect
• Help monitor and maintain environment of Redhat Linux servers and Oracle Solaris servers, in a mixed physical and virtual environment.
• Ensure 24/7 availability on the various systems.
• Provide periodic on-call support during non-business hours.
• Perform required daily operational controls.
• Troubleshoot and correct system related issues.
• Provide level 1 and 2 technical support to the application support team.
• Interface with outside suppliers as needed.
• Ensure proper operation of the disaster recovery solution and conduct regular tests.
• Assist other senior IT staff with projects related to server management and deployment.


To be successful you need to have
• Knowledge of RedHat linux security and hardening (experience with Solaris will considered as advantage)
• Networking knowledge
• Knowledge of IPtables FW and other host filters
• Shell scripting
• Oracle PL/SQL programming knowledge
• Experience with ESX installation and maintenance
• Vsphere and Vcentre products, vm client windows and Linux installation
• Understanding of use of Opensource security systems such as OSSEC, ClamAV, and other solutions
• Understanding of use of commercially available IPS solutions such as tipping point, or nCircle, logrhythm
• Understanding of, and practical use of DNS in Linux and Solaris and its structure
• Very good understanding of RAID and virtual RAID
• Deep understanding of SAN technologies and in particular EMC/NetApp
• Puppet centralised configuration management or other similar technologies such as cobbler
• Splunk implementation and administration
• Experience with administering Hadoop BigData platform ( or similar) will be considered advantage
• Experience with EBS administration will be considered as advantage

Skills and Qualifications
• You have a University degree in Computer Science, Programming, or equivalent education
• You have a minimum of 3 years of experience in IT
• Experience managing projects that involve building and installing open source software
• experience in use of proxying, SSL offloading, multi virtual host configurations
• You are responsible and a solid team player, you can work independently and have strong synthesizing and analytical skills
• You are able to multitask and work efficiently under pressure in a fast paced environment, often on projects with tight timelines and different priorities
• You are a quick learner, self-starter, meticulous and results-oriented
• You are enthusiastic and have excellent customer support skills
• You have solid communication skills (written and verbal)
• Experience in a banking, financial services or credit card processing environment is an asset
