The IBM Client Innovation Center for Technology Support Services (TSS) was launched at the end of 2013. It is the biggest global TSS center in the world. The high-tech center provides end-to-end IT services, including network management, server systems operations, maintenance and monitoring of computer hardware and software.

IBM Open Source support Business Applications Team focuses on Application Platforms, Application Integration or Software Development community projects. The team works with IBM’s clients driving resolution of technical issues. The technical leaders interact with the Open Source Communities on behalf of clients. The team is collaborative, caring and respectful of work life balance. As a technical leader you will have opportunities to help define the direction of the team and services.

What you will do:

• Act as technical resource and point of escalation for team members.
• Engage in identifying and resolving complex problems relating to installation, update, configuration, operations or performance.
• Develop and implement solutions and processes.
• Advocate for and assist the Open Source community (via support forums/mailing lists and proposing code changes for bug fixes or enhancements)
• Review client’s architecture and design plans
• Present knowledge via articles, blogs and conference presentations.
If you have:

• Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of experience in a support, development, engineering, or testing role
• High Proficiency in multiple OSS products and technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Ceph, GlusterFS, Elasticsearch, OpenLDAP, FreeIPA, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Linux).
• Application Development Operations Life Cycle (CI/CD) - Automation, Provisioning (Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Chef, Jenkins, CVS, Git, GitHub, Maven, Ant, Subversion)
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
• Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills
• Eagerness to learn and expand technical competencies daily
• Flexible with changes
Will be considered an advantage:

• An understanding of what it takes to migrate from proprietary to Open Source platforms
• Proficiency in multiple OSS products and technologies (Helm, OpenStack Orchestration (Heat), OpenStack Bare Metal Provisioning (Ironic), OpenStack Neutron, OpenStack Compute (Nova), Istio, OpenStack Block Storage (Cinder), OpenStack Swift, Apache ZooKeeper, Relax-and-Recover (ReaR), Kibana, Logstash, FluentD, Wireshark, Apache Solr,Go, Python).
• Participation in one or more Open Source Community Projects (via support forums, mailing list, community or code contribution).
• Cloud integration experience very desirable
• Within the Open Source Services team, you will have the opportunity to upskill your knowledge in various technologies and get certification.
