Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Solution Designer, you will be responsible for designing maintenance solutions on hardware (HW) and software (SW) for IBM and non-IBM products. Utilizing your deep technical skills, you will calculate the associated costs in proposals for international/global customers based on existing offerings developed by the multi-vendor services (MVS) offering team.

Your main responsibilities as a Solution Designer will be:

Support Opportunity Owners & Technical Solution Managers to develop end to end solutions.

Act as SME / technical focal point for cost and capabilities for our special bids with multi vendor products.

Lead the IBM special bid process, interfacing with all functions as required i.e. Offering, Delivery, Procurement, Pricing, Service Parts Organization, Sales and coordinating multi function inputs to the solution and cost model.

Collect approvals from the relevant functions to ensure the solutions are compliant.

Analyze RfP documentation, extract customer expectations, and convert business requirements into a future ready solution.

Maintain and further develop core technical competency in respective field i.e. server-storage, network and security, open source and software.


Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Minimum 1 year experience in technical support position (with methodology and processes component), ideally in a maintenance sales or delivery organization, or experience in a related organization like Infrastructure Outsourcing, Procurement or Quote to Cash (Q2C).
Experience in orchestrating the development of maintenance solutions.
Experience in communication and negotiations, verbal and in writing, to stakeholders.
Fluent English.
Understanding costing and pricing rules.
Advanced MS Excel knowledge.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

2nd foreign language preferred – French or Italian.

You will be knowledgeable of all Data center products and be able to understand the function of the products within a datacenter configuration and environment. It is preferred that you have an industry recognized IT qualification such as ITIL and/or a recognized certification from an Original Equipment Manufacturer.

In addition, previous work experience as a Solution Architect in the maintenance support industry or experience of service delivery in a datacenter environment would be beneficial.
