The Role:

The Apex Group is going through a rapid acquisition and integration, and is seeking a candidate who is looking for opportunities to develop and grow with an expanding organisation. The Information Security Architect [ISA] role is responsible for the Apex Group information security, strategic, tactical and operational design activities, and for ensuring that Apex Group solutions are compliant with policies, standards and regulatory requirements. The ISA is directly responsible to the Apex Group CISO for this purpose and must be able to execute the responsibilities in an effective and independent manner.

Key duties and responsibilities:

Assisting management and other key stakeholders with understanding and implementing information security responsibilities;
Promoting information security education, training and awareness throughout The Apex Group especially for new employees and IS team members;
Identifying significant threat changes and exposures to threats of assets associated with information security and assisting in remediation efforts;
Interact with senior stakeholders across departments and be the point of contact for information security for other architectural resources within the group;
Research and apply innovative security architecture solutions to new or existing problems and be able to justify and communicate design decisions;
Understand the impact of decisions, balancing requirements and deciding between approaches;
Develop vision, principles and strategy for security architecture on project or technology decisions;
Align standards, frameworks and security with overall business and technology strategy;
Design, build and implement enterprise-class security systems for a production environment;
Lead the technical design of secure systems, services and produce particular patterns that support quality assurance. Design security architecture elements to mitigate threats as they emerge.
