System Services Representatives are the primary technical interface to clients for the coordination of hardware and software support and delivery of operational services. Sound pretty important? You will advise clients of preventive maintenance, configuration, operation and environmental factors which may drastically impact product performance or impair the client’s IT operation.

Your Role and Responsibilities
As part of the IT Center System z System programming team, you will be working on different – mainly internal – projects for IBM in Germany and IBM world-wide. The IT Center System z system programming team operates several z/OS and z/VM systems. Depending on your assigned projects, you might be working closely with our Networking team, AIX/LINUX team or with the Windows team. The major project is ECuRep, a support data repository and debugging systems for the IBM support organizations world wide. Besides system administration tasks, each team member is responsible for one or more technical key aspect of the team tasks. This includes leading a sub project, preparing release or version changes but also acquiring new competencies.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
– z/OS base system administration skills;
– z/OS system installation and maintenance, SMP/E;
– REXX coding;
– Parallel sysplex;
– Security (RACF, ITCS104);
– DFSMShsm, DFSMSrmm and DFSMSdfp;
– OMVS & UNIX System Services;
– JCL;
– Fluency in English – both verbal and written.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
The ideal candidate should have strong z/OS system administration skills, preferred Middleware skill (DB2, MQ) and optional average networking skills. Being a good team player but also can work independent from the team to drive one topic is absolutely required.
