Job Description

We are searching for a Senior Data Engineer to join our Experian Ph BI team!

As a Senior Data Engineer, you’ll spend most of your day coding and problem solving; working with your team to design and implement new features. We start our day with a quick stand-up discussing the project the team is currently working on, any blockers we have, and planning for the day ahead. We then break off into individually, in pairs or small groups to complete various pieces of work.

Responsibilities:
· Writing SQL queries on multiple multi-million row tables quickly and efficiently
· Use PL/SQL, Java or Python to create or improve the efficiency of processes or services
· Writing and maintaining automated systems/test suites
· Perform/assist with ongoing monitoring and maintenance of current applications
· Provide pro-active status reports and progress updates to team leads as required, for all assignments
· Engage with your assigned team to provide thoughts/estimates/insight for in progress or future assignments
· Understand and participate in performance management processes
· Continuously improve knowledge of chosen field or programming language and suggest new and improved solutions to old challenges
· Provide guidance and support to other developers encouraging best practice
· Introduce new concepts and ways of working

Qualifications

Requirements:
· 3-5+ years of experience on similar role
· University Degree in a quantitative subject as Mathematics, Statistics, Informatics, Economics, Physics, Data Science or related
· Strong professional experience of design, development, testing and end to end ownership of production environments
· Experienced in mentoring others, leading design discussions and communicating complex ideas clearly
· Good understanding of how to write clean, efficient, well tested code, how to optimise queries and dynamic generation of code
· Strong knowledge of Oracle SQL and PLSQL
· Practical experience with Python
· Experience with Jenkins, Maven
· Experience with Java 11+, Spring
· A keenness to learn and to work in a highly collaborative environment
· Strong communication and problem-solving skills in English

The following technologies would be considered as an advantage:
· Experience with Apache Kafka, Kafka streams
· Experience with Artifactory, Docker, Sonarqube
· Experience with Javascript
· Experience with Postgres
· Experience with Openshift, AWS
· Experience with Apache Solr
