Data Engineer
As a data engineer you will have the opportunity to innovate, design and build research tools and infrastructure in Python that help you and your team test research hypotheses and transform data into actionable investment signals. You will be writing efficient, modular and dependable code, packages, libraries and scripts and use those to conduct market intelligence and analyze data relevant to making systematic financial markets projections. You will be testing and modeling both traditional and non-traditional, structured and unstructured data in order to find market signals and distill them from the noise. You will also identify and deploy statistical, machine learning, and deep learning methods that strike the right balance between predictive power and robustness. The product of your work will be the backbone of the quantitative research process, as well as the investment process. You will have access to superior computation resources, both local and cloud-based, to unleash your full potential.
Skillset Requirements:
• Degree in a technical or quantitative discipline, like statistics, mathematics, physics, electrical engineering, or computer science;
• Experience working with large databases;
• Experience programming in Python, using packages such as pandas, numpy, statsmodels, sklearn, scipy, matplotlib, tensorflow. C++ experience is an advantage;
• Understanding of time series analysis, data mining, numerical methods and statistical tools, including PCA and regression;
• Experience working with large data sets;
• Great communication skills, both written and oral.
Nice to Have:
• Experience working with distributed compute infrastructure;
• Experience with machine learning techniques, time series analysis and econometrics;
• Experience in Deep Learning: DNN, CNN, RNN/LSTM, GAN or other auto encoder;
• JupyterHub expertise;
• KDB+ experience;
• Basic understanding of equity markets.
