Retail Analyst

Job Description:
The retail analyst performs various functions which primary involves providing analysis and supporting recommendations, supporting internal retail-driven initiatives and external client reporting and initiatives.
The key tasks, duties, and responsibilities that make up the retail analyst job description are listed below:

 Responsible for organising and analysing data from available data sources to support retail reporting, projects and initiatives
 Responsible for creating analysis, recommendations, and presentations to support retail initiatives and projects
 Responsible for the development of standard templates, scorecards, and benchmarking capability across customer teams and region
 Responsible for providing support and proposes recommendations for improvements to tools and information used within retail analytics
 Interface and interact with buyers and manufacturers
 Responsible for performing data segmentation analysis to support promotional campaigns and program enhancements
 Provide support for business unit by performing analysis of activities (on systems, products, processes, and/or procedures) to improve core functions, growth, and profitability
 Partner with key stakeholders to analyse, test, and launch new initiatives to increase product penetration.
Retail Analyst Requirements – Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
 Education: Bachelor’s degree or three to five years of experience in marketing/retail analysis
 Computer skills: Must be proficient with Excel, including use of pivot tables, financial functions, data analysis, auditing and additional functions; advanced formatting and analysis tools. Must also possess a working knowledge of Windows and related software applications, including word processing, graphics, e-mail and database management
 Communication skills: Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
 Office skills: Must be able to operate basic office machinery, including a calculator, computer, and a printer, telephone, and copy machine
 Organisational skills: Must be highly organised with the ability to handle several projects simultaneously, prioritise effectively, and exhibit good technical and problem solving techniques.
