Job Description
We're looking for a Senior Database Engineer highly proficient in Oracle PL/SQL to join our Solution Development Team.

What you'll be doing

Working for a global organization, in this this role you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, improving and maintaining new and existing database systems and applications within an agreed timescale and quality.

You will be also responsible for delivering high-quality solutions ensuring best practice approach to development and delivery of solutions and continued improvement of technical standards.

In the role you will be required to collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to provide technical support and identify new requirements.

Essentially you will be:

A trusted expert and participate in the entire software development lifecycle. Be responsible for everything related to database development and support starting from low level design, to implementation and improvement of new and existing solutions. Proactively contribute with ideas and suggestions for overall technical solution design and implementation.
Creating complex packages, functions, scripts, stored procedures, triggers and data flows to support application development and at the same time ensure that all deliverables meet quality and performance criteria.
Troubleshooting database related issues and perform bug fixes in compliance with the SLA.
Optimizing complex code areas and ensuring that all the modules perform at their best and meet pre-agreed response times.
Facilitating and managing the estimation process of change requests, defects and various development tasks and produce a list with risks and issues about their execution.
Responsible for code quality through review processes and facilitate code review sessions on a regular basis.
Providing the necessary support within the team to ensure constant knowledge growth in both technical and product domains. Mentoring more junior members and help other departments with expertise in order to be independent and to be able to self-serve when possible.
Leading the development of new product features/modules and enhancements.
Ensuring all database programs meet company and performance requirements.
Following team/project coding standards and source code management policy.
Documenting all the work and findings.
Following Security and Production access policy.
Qualifications
What you'll bring

8+ years of professional experience with Oracle 12c or higher version and PL/SQL.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related information technology field.
Practical experience of the development lifecycle and methodologies.
Practical experience with version control systems and/or CI/CD.
Good understanding of data and schema standards and concepts.
Good understand of database design, implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance.
Proactive and self-motivated attitude.
Strong communication skills.
Teamwork abilities.
Analytical thinking abilities.
Willingness to document any new development.
Strong judgment and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to plan technical solutions.
Deadline oriented mindset.
Working level of English.
Experience with ETL tools and/or Oracle Apex is considered as a plus.
