Your Role and Responsibilities
IBM Bulgaria is opening 2023 z/OS Software Development Internship Program.

Our 6-month part-time training program is aimed to prepare and develop students for a wide variety of positions in software development, DevOps engineering and Test/Quality assurance.
During the learning journey the Intern will gain new skills on the specific skill set that is needed to be actively engaged in day-to-day software development processes in IBM.
During the whole program extensive training and workshop sessions will be conducted, in order to obtain not only technical knowledge and understanding of IBM z/OS operating system and its components, but also proficient communication skills and corporate culture.
An experienced engineer – Mentor – will be assigned to the apprentice, to provide support and guidance throughout the learning journey.

You will learn how to:

Develop code for IBM z/OS operating system used in most of Fortune 100 companies
Benefit of IBM decades-long experience in building the backbone of the world’s critical businesses
Communicate with international teams
Develop and demonstrate expertise in IBM software development practices
Demonstrate soft skills and technical skills that contributes to IBM success
Contribute positively towards the achievement of performance targets in all aspects of the team’s activities.
This internship may have flexible working schedule.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Technical expertise:
In-depth knowledge in C/C++
Good understanding of data structures and algorithms
Strong interest in system programming
Familiar with operating systems concepts
Personal skills:
Being an active University student or a recent graduate in technical subject
Fluent level of English language skills, both verbal and written
Excellent communication skills
Highly organized with strong attention to detail

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Technical expertise:

Experience in PL/X and/or Java
Experience with source control systems (Git)
Understanding of Agile methodologies
Personal skills:
Open for new challenges
Willingness to work with limited supervision
Team spirit
