Job Description

This role opens you to a category that is constantly evolving, requires the successful applicant to work with many areas of the business areas to develop and deliver procurement strategies acquiring new data sources as well as developing and expanding existing sources.

The role requires you to approach things differently and be creative both commercially and technically whilst still demonstrating the best practice of a procurement professional.

What you’ll be doing?

· Working with the in country and regional Business Units to develop procurement strategies to help meet both local and regional strategic goals
· Researching category and market information to become a trusted advisor to the region with regards to Data acquisition.
· Contribute and provide regional updates into the Global Data category strategy.
· Planning and negotiating new and renewing data acquisitions to ensure value for money but also mitigating risk always balanced with meeting the business needs.
· Undertaking RFx , e-auctions as appropriate.
· Participating in global activities to share learning and leverage knowledge from other Experian data buyers across the world.
· Partner with Supplier Management to drive value for business units
· Work with project management function in conjunction with the BU as required to ensure that project deadlines are met.
· Work with BU's to ensure that they are appraised of risks and balance with speed of execution.

Qualifications

What you’ll bring?

· Experience in engaging in detailed, and sometimes high-level, complex negotiations with vendors, with the ability to challenge, influence ideas and consult
· Ability to communicate effectively and proactively to influence internal clients / stakeholders both at a country and regional level.
· Challenge traditional commercial models to enable the country and or region to be innovative in how it uses and benefits from the data
· Strong analytical and research capabilities particularly when reviewing bids, markets and spend, and confident to challenge where necessary
· Experience of SAP Ariba preferred
· Whilst not mandatory would suit someone with IT buying experience
· Ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders at all levels to influence and challenge them
· A knowledge of contracting law including data protection is desired.
· Fluent English
· German language will be an advantage
