Your role and responsibilities
This position is well-suited for tech enthusiasts who love teaching, problem-solving, and making customers successful. The role is a unique opportunity to work at the nexus of IBM Development, IBM Support, and IBM Sales. The primary responsibility will be developing expertise in MQ for z/OS and drive customers adoption and growth with MQ for z/OS and related products to maximize their business value. The expected tasks and activities include but are not limited to participate as subject matter expert (SME) in WSC Z Health Checks (zHC) and provide technical pre-sales support in other customer engagements, developing intellectual capital, workshops, demos, and other ‘show me’ collateral in support of MQ for z/OS contributions to strategic and tactical solutions offered to IBM customers. Applicants must be self-motivated and highly organized. The Job location will be at one of the key Infrastructure locations


Key Job Duties:

Develop educational materials in support of MQ for z/OS to best practices and grow workloads
Contribute to Z Health Check and perform SMF data analysis
Engage with IBM and/or partner teams to provide deep technical knowledge of MQ for z/OS as part of the technical sales process
Develop intellectual capital in areas such as MQ architecture, security, availability, performance
Required education
Bachelor's Degree
Preferred education
Master's Degree
Required technical and professional expertise
Enterprise software development experience
Systems programming, application development and/or systems administration experience with z/OS
Comfortability with mainframe functionality including ISPF/TSO; JCL; REXX; RACF; CICS
Ability to understand high sophisticated technical production environments and architectures, and explain them to others
Enjoys working collaborating and solving customer pain points
Preferred technical and professional experience
Previous experience analyzing SMF data and z/OS dumps
z/OS modernization experience using DevOps tooling
Previous experience developing demos, workshops, presentations, and/or documentation
Experience configuring OpenTelemetry and event-driven messaging, such as Apache Kafka
