GIS SPECIALIST
As part of a cross-functional Agile team, you will:
- Plan and execute high-quality business analysis of data sets, analyzing and interpreting collected data to meet business requirements.
- Work with project team members to gather, assess, organize, profile, and clean data for geospatial applications. Develop or use existing tools that present data in useful business formats;
- Create re-usable applications of geostatistical models (R, Python, SAS, SPSS, etc.) and develop algorithms that will enable the processing of satellite imagery data in real-time (e.g. using Google Earth Engine);
- Create, update, and manage geospatial information system databases and assist in identifying, compiling, and assessing geospatial and imagery data sets.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor's or higher University degree in a related quantitative field (e.g., GIS, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, etc.)
- 4+ years of previous professional experience as a Geospatial Analyst / Developer using analytical packages such as R, Python, etc., and approaches (regression, decision trees, clustering, neural networks, etc.);
- Python development experience is a MUST (we'll be happy if you have specific experience in ArcGIS API for Python, Pandas, Arcpy);
- Hands-on experience with geospatial approaches (spatial analysis, remote sensing, network analysis, geographic visualization, etc.);
- Ability to work with relational databases such as SQL, PostGIS, etc.
- Good command of the English language (B2 level – written and verbal).
