What you'll do:
Managing a team of data scientists working across a wide range of content verticals
Building, documenting and testing machine learning pipelines
Leading the design and delivery of technical solutions from initial data exploration to development and deployment of models
Applying statistical techniques to company’s content data in order to answer interesting questions about a wide range of business, policy and current affairs issues
Leading a team which is working on both solo and collaborative projects
Advising product managers on experimental design and metrics
Working directly with data journalists, as well as other reporters and editors (many of whom have not worked with data) to explain techniques, results and ideas
Ensuring the work of the team is widely shared and reviewed

What we need
from you:
Experience managing a team of data scientists
Software development experience
Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform or BigQuery
Proficient in Python and have a good knowledge of data libraries such as Tensorflow and Keras
Experience in a media or information business

The ability to hire and manage a team of data scientists with a range of specialities including:
Experience working with data types and models outside of standard data science tool kit, such as geographical data, high frequency time series, spatial regression or remaining useful life models
Experience with advanced techniques in subfields such as computer vision, natural language processing or reinforcement learning
Experience or interest in developing web applications and interactive user interfaces
Experience of predictive or prescriptive analytics
Experience of sentiment measurement and/or social listening tools
An additional language
Strong spoken English and good written English
