Job Description
Job Purpose

As a Senior Product Owner, much of your time will be spent writing requirements, facilitating Agile development ceremonies, leading backlog refinement sessions, and helping scrum teams with timely decisions on priorities on a day-to-day basis.

You’ll be working closely with our Product Managers as well as a broad range of internal cross-functional stakeholders to understand opportunities to improve fraud management capabilities and focus on deriving solutions to given business problems. You'll be responsible for maximizing the value of our identity and fraud solutions through software engineering work.

Building effective relationships with senior management and stakeholders, in different countries, time zones and cultures, is essential to succeed in this role, as is a high degree of technical expertise to comprehend the complex nature of our products.

Principle responsibilities

Requirements Gathering and Analysis - accountable and responsible for:

Producing clear, high-quality, specific, and unambiguous, functional and non-functional requirements for new features and enhancements, and presenting them for review
Providing high-quality detailed analysis with the customer journey in mind, working through requirements in an agile manner, considering fitness-for-purpose, adherence to business objectives, and consistency, challenging positively where appropriate
Defining specific and measurable Acceptance Criteria and acceptance of requirements by Software Engineering teams for execution
Collecting feedback and defining requirements from all the involved stakeholders
Reviewing and confirming that designed features/functions ultimately meet the specified intent, requirements, business and end-user needs where applicable
Assessing reported defects, non-functional requirements, and other technical debt, triaging severity and prioritizing resolution alongside feature work, to ensure that the product always meets established Quality Criteria, and that quality continuously improves
Generating documents and other artifacts describing current and future product features and functions
Providing direction and guidance in the process of requirement gathering to ensure alignment with organizational goals
Learning about our product portfolio and the identity and fraud domain, to ensure proper understanding of context, features and functions
Prioritization and Planning - responsible for:

Setting priorities in collaboration with key stakeholders against planned objectives, in consideration of the constraints, dependencies and competing interests, ensuring that the product needs and vision are maintained
Tracking progression over time to ensure client, business, and technical goals are met, supporting sprint planning and other related activities when required
Co-ordinating development and defect resolution across multiple teams, programmes and locations, and identifying dependencies between teams
Establishing an agile, iterative and data driven team or group backlog in collaboration with key stakeholders
Continuously seeking ways to improve processes to increase efficiency and performance
Working Practices and Relationships:

You will work with different sets of stakeholders, both technical and business, from Software Engineering Teams to Project/Programme Management, Product Management and Delivery to assist with strategic planning and gain early knowledge of future scope and goals
Qualifications
Requirements

Essential:

5+ years of experience of working in an Agile environment, ideally in software product development, using one or more of the primary Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban/XP etc.)
Background in a Product role within a Software / Technology context, possessing strong technical expertise and the ability to confidently work with customers and other stakeholders
Excellent requirements gathering, analysis and problem-solving skills
Able to demonstrate a strong understanding of business processes and translate that understanding into technical requirements
Fast learner - can quickly get up to speed with complex solutions and knows how to acquire knowledge, able to adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment, resilient and self-confident
Strong networking, collaboration and influencing skills
Experience of working closely and collaboratively with clients or similar stakeholders to ensure their needs are met, that they receive relevant and timely updates, and managing the product backlog
Proven ability to manage complex situations with multiple dependencies and constraints
Ability to make informed decisions based on limited (and potentially ambiguous) facts presented
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong listening skills - able to communicate with stakeholders from different countries, cultures and backgrounds
Fluent verbal and written English
Desirable:

Proven experience in the identity and fraud industry would be an advantage
Industry or academic certifications relevant to the domain, technology, and/or discipline of Product Ownership would be an advantage
Experience working in a leadership position (with or without authority) contributing to the success and growth of team members
Expertise using Jira and Confluence to capture and prioritize release requirements
