Currently there is a new open position for an Experienced PostgreSQL DBA.
Your role:
• Configuration, optimization, maintenance of the PostgreSQL databases.
• Optimization and advice on applicative queries and table structures.
• Optimization and advice on general software, hardware and DB architecture.
• Maintenance scripts.
• Writing advanced queries or query scripts.
• Help on backup strategy and implementation.
• Help on advanced monitoring.
Your profile:
• 3+ years experience DBA PostgreSQL.
• Proven experience in a high volume / high performance DB environment.
• Deep knowledge on at least one scripting language (Perl, Python, Ruby, PHP, etc.).
• Deep knowledge of Linux environment (Debian preferred but non blocking).
• Deep knowledge in PostgreSQL replication engines and backup engines (pgbarman).
• Understanding of our specifics: lots of real time queries/updates, really high number of transactions per second and concurrent connections, zero-downtime policy.
