For one of our clients, a leading consulting and Information System certification company in Lisbon, Portugal, we are currently looking for an experienced Senior Java Architect.

Project Description:
The customer is a financial organization with more than 25 years of experience and it is responsible for the development and for functions in areas such as processing payments and Automatic Clearing House (ACH). The project involves migration of all payment systems/ATM from IBM Mainframe to a distributed system based on Java technologies and is always in a running process. When a payment request arises, a controller (system) decides if it is processed by the new system or by the old one. Step by step, it is supposed to move as much as possible, all payments to the new one.

Your role:
• Collaborate with other professionals to determine functional and non-functional requirements for new software or applications.
• Use tools and methodologies to create representations for functions of the desired product.
• Develop high-level solution specification with attention to system integration and feasibility.
• Define all aspects of development from appropriate technology and workflow to coding standards and ensure the compliance of project policies.
• Communicate successfully all concepts and guidelines to the development team.
• Oversee the progress of the development team to ensure consistency with initial design.
• Provide technical guidance and coaching to developers and engineers.
• Ensure software meets all requirements of quality, security, modifiability, extensibility etc.

Your background:
• 8+ years of professional experience in designing complex and high performant solutions.
• Strong knowledge of Object Oriented languages, Design Patterns, Java SE 6, Java EE 6 - EJB, MDB (JMS), JPA.
• Very good knowledge of Maven, Junit.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Positive attitude.
• Willingness to relocate to Portugal for at least 12 months.
