Key Responsibilities:

·        
In this highly challenging role, you
will form part of the applications and databases team responsible of designing
and maintaining the production and test databases of the company while ensuring
the smooth running of all related software and applications. Among other
things, you will install Oracle and Microsoft Databases; perform Tuning
Exercises for Oracle DBMS; implement performance and logical enhancements to
OS, middleware, applications and integration layers; troubleshoot, prioritise
and perform post-mortem analysis on issues/faults for root cause identification
and correction; and perform black/grey-box identification.

This position calls for a highly
technical person with a degree in IT or Engineering. Candidates must be
experienced in working with RDBMs; have expertise in Oracle Database
Administration, Oracle Enterprise Manager and Oracle Partitioning. In addition
you will be proficient in Oracle PL-SQL Tuning and Shell scripting. You will
have a working knowledge of database tuning and parameter optimisation; high
availability mechanisms (clustering, load balancing); and Oracle/MySQL/MS-SQL
schema administration.

    These tasks and duties shall be performed
according to the Company or supplier Standard Operating Procedures, and the
Company Manual.
