Course Overview
The Bachelor of Business (Management) aims to produce graduates with the
skills and knowledge to work in middle management roles in a variety of public
and private industries. Managers play a vital role in all organisations as they
are responsible for organisation growth and development. This program will
develop business and leadership skills and give students the ability to manage
people successfully. The degree ensures that students have the opportunity to
develop essential business skills and knowledge including finance and marketing
principles, business law and sound well-developed management skills.
Qualification and Recognition
On successful completion of this course, students are awarded the Bachelor
of Business (Management).
Recognition of Prior Learning and Credit Transfer
Students may be able to shorten the length of this course through
qualifications obtained from formal studies. AQF qualifications and Statements
of Attainment issued by other registered training organisation and education
providers are recognised by Our
College.
Assessment
Each unit is assessed by a combination of written assignments and end of
unit exams.
Career Opportunities
Upon successful completion of the Bachelor of Business (Management),
students will have gained the skills and knowledge to work towards a middle
management role.
Opportunities for Further Study
Students who successfully complete The Bachelor of Business (Management) can
apply to study a number of post-graduate qualifications in Australia and
abroad.
Course Structure
The Bachelor of Business (Management) is a 3 year course, delivered over 6
semesters full time.
Core Knowledge in Business
The Bachelor of Business (Management) incorporates the Core Body of
Knowledge in Business that is recommended by the Australian Institute of
Management (AIM), Australian Marketing Institute (AMI) and the Australian
Market and Social Research Society (AMSRS).
Lifelong learning
Students gain key skills in research, using both online and library
materials. They also gain key skills and significant experience in
collaborative learning, and gain theoretical knowledge in the underpinnings of
business. All of these factors will help graduates of the Bachelor of Business
(Management) to be lifelong learners.
Professional & Community Engagement
Important business people and professional management guest speakers will be
invited to speak at various lectures. Guest speakers will add value in the
practical aspect of the course work which is particularly important. These
speakers will also assist students understand future management
responsibilities.
Industry relevant material
The applied components of the course incorporate material that is
specifically relevant for the business management industry. In the
laboratories, students gain experience with business planning, analysis and
statistical packages; they also gain experience with other computer packages
such as MS Excel. The course will emphasise a creative and innovative approach
to Business education as the key to competitiveness in a dynamic and global
economy. It is intended that the course would consist of a combination of both
domestic and international students. Students should gain benefits from a broad
range of cultural diversity and life experiences of their fellow students.
