We are looking for an R&D Head of the Mechanical Team.

As R&D Head of the Mechanical Team, your job will be to coordinate people and processes to ensure that designs are delivered on time and with expected quality.
Your main responsibility will be the deliverables of the Mechanical Team.

Your Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Manage the team of Mechanical Design Engineers, and products by setting objectives and ensuring their effective and quality execution;
• Propose and manage the budget, the roadmap, and the KPIs of his/her team and ensure that all objectives are met;
• A backup of the R&D Manager for all mechanical aspects of the product;
• Participate in budget preparation for the team he/she is responsible for;
• Evaluate the performance of his/her team members;
• Ensure the mechanical designs meet the defined requirements and comply with company standards;
• Lead and coordinate various technical projects;
• Ensure the product modifications are executed promptly with expected quality;
• Use simulation tools and represent LBG for mechanical design management standards;
• Develop his/her expertise and the expertise of his/her team.

Your Professional Background:

• Engineering University degree in Mechanics, Electro-mechanic, or equivalent;
• More than 5 years of practical experience as a design engineer in low-cost components mixed mechanic/electronic environment
• Experience in the design of metal and plastic components in the industry and automotive area;
• Knowledge of magnetism is considered an advantage;
• Hands-on experience with CAD software (SolidWorks experience is considered an advantage);
• Fluent English, and French will be considered as an advantage;
• Strong customer focus and excellent communication skills;
• Team player with strong problem-solving aptitude;
• Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills;
• Proactive, autonomous, committed to milestones and deadlines.
