Our client is a high-tech company with a strong presence in the mining industry, with significant achievements in all aspects of managing and executing processes related to mineral extraction and beneficiation. They have a well-developed IT department and are currently seeking an experienced specialist to join their team in the following position:


DATABASE MANAGER


Main responsibilities:

The role involves leading the design and construction of database structures, enhancing the performance and scalability of existing systems, and improving database tools and services. In addition, you will have to monitor database performance, run diagnostic tests, update systems, and ensure data protection against fraud and breaches. The position requires collaboration with analysts and managers to meet database needs, prepare management reports, and oversee the development team. Last but not least, training colleagues, creating backups, restoring lost data, and staying updated on technological advancements.

Essential requirements for this role:

- Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or other technical-related specialty;
- 5+ years of proven experience in database management or a similar role;
- Extensive experience in designing, developing, and producing database reports;
- Experience and excellent knowledge of SQL;
- Solid understanding of system and application administration;
- Proficient in troubleshooting software and hardware issues;
- Good command of the English language.

*Familiarity with project management methodology and tools is an advantage but it is not mandatory.
