Cargotec Business Services was established in Sofia, Bulgaria in August 2017 and has close to 450 employees now. Our goal is to help accelerate Cargotec’s success by providing world-class global business services in different corporate functions.

Currently we’re looking for Senior ETL and BI Developer to join our recently established Reporting and Analytics team. The team is growing and we’re seeking for a person who is passionate about data and analytics, and is willing to share the knowledge and best practices among the business users across the company.

Purpose of the position

Support MacGregor in leveraging data to create efficient business processes and provide insights that enable improved business outcomes. The primary focus areas will be: apply ETL and data modeling techniques integrated with our system landscape, develop and support BI solutions that are used every day by a large user base on a global scale and work towards the establishment of self-service culture across the company.

Key responsibilities:

Participate in development and execution of MacGregor data and analytics strategy;
Build analytics solutions such as company-wide dashboards, connected sheets (Google Sheets) and custom queries that provide valuable insights for business users;
Develop and maintain high-quality data pipelines and datasets ready for consumption, applying best practices for advanced data modeling and sound data warehouse principles;
Establish solid relationships with business stakeholders, map business requirements and translate them into data structures and analytic tools;
Promote self-service reporting by maintaining data governance practices across the BI platform (e.g. cataloging and metadata management, monitoring, application of quality controls, etc. );
Foster a data-driven culture across the organization via “working-with-data” trainings, use case support and sharing of best practices;
Develop and maintain a solid understanding on how MacGregor business operates and measures itself, including the ongoing strategic objectives;
Continuously assess existing solutions against industry standards and suggest improvements in workflows, data pipelines and BI/reporting technologies;
Suggest, plan and take part in continuous improvement projects across the area of responsibility;
Develop and maintain a high focus on safety, compliance and sustainability;
Responsible for securing own and co-workers’ safety and health with all possible means and in compliance with the law.

Position requirements:
University degree in mathematics, information technology, business / industrial management or similar;
5+ years of relevant experience in data management, ETL, data warehousing and BI Reporting;
High interpersonal skills, autonomy and responsibility including passion for using technology for improving business outcomes;
Proficiency in SQL and/or Python;
Excellent understanding of cloud-based data modeling, architectures and pipelines (Google Cloud / BigQuery is desirable, but not a requirement);
Excellent analytical and data visualization skills and the ability to draw relevant conclusions from data;
Experience interacting with stakeholders in different domains and at various levels of seniority;
Hands-on personality with strong ability to get things done even under pressure;
Fluency in English.
