Freight Forwarder - Road Transport

The Forwarder will be responsible for the daily operations. He / She will process, monitor and execute customers’ orders, coordinate transportation with suppliers, input and maintain operational data in the IT system and control the documents relevant to his/her scope of activity.
The job interacts closely with Sales and Purchasing department, therefore the Forwarder is responsible for identifying and initiating development of relations with potential customers and suppliers, as well as identifying market opportunities. Implementing and applying company’s strategy and standards are key factors for the successful applicant.

Main Responsibilities:

- Calculate the cost of transport activities, transit times, loading factors and
parameters, which can influence transport costs;
- Select suppliers of transport services based on the pre-defined criteria (cost, quality,
feasibility, deadlines, market knowledge and risk);
- Manage consecutive transport activities, respecting optimization of cost, reduction of
empty trips, optimization of document collection and claim processing;
- Follow the transportation process and interacts closely with the involved parties;
- Respects and control the payment terms of customers’ & suppliers’ invoices according
contractual agreements;
- Manages daily activity in a precise, proactive and engaged way allowing sales department
to increase opportunities with the specific customer, as well as improving financial
results from activity adding value to the service.

Job requirements:

- Previous professional experience in a similar position - minimum 2 years;
- Market experience in transport operations (service providers, clients and competitor’s
knowledge) is a must ;
- English language (spoken and written) is a must, second EU language is an advantage;
- Communicative, team oriented, proactive person;
- Computer literacy is a must (Good knowledge of MS Applications – Excel, Outlook etc.is
required), experience with SAP and other ERP systems is an advantage.
